A group of over 100 Golf Academy of America students took a trip to Amway Arena in downtown Orlando to watch the Orlando Magic NBA team take on the New York Knicks. The group, comprised of students from all four semesters, had the chance to sign up for seats to the game as part of a student appreciation event hosted by the Academy. This is the second time the student activity was held at the home of the Magic. By all accounts, the time spent together outside of school watching some of the best athletes in the world was exciting and a nice break from competing with each other on the golf course. Though it was not such a pleasant outcome for students from New York, the game turned out to be a good one for Magic fans in the group as the team crushed the Knicks 118-104.
As of this writing, the Orlando Magic leads the NBA's Eastern Conference with a 16-4 record and are on a 5-game winning streak. After the Knicks game, everyone who stuck around was able to go onto the playing court floor for a group photo, flanked by the Magic dancers. And that explains all those smiles.
