Mar 31, 2010

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Golf Academy of America graduate A.J. Kavanaugh has been appointed general manager and director of golf at Maine's Toddy Brook Golf Club. Since 1974, GAA has provided graduates with a golf education for the golf profession they desire with a 16-month program of golf instruction and golf business management.

"The Orlando campus and the entire GAA staff and student body are extremely proud of A.J.," says Campus Director of Orlando Brad Turner. "GAA offers the most prestigious but practical golf education and I know A.J. will be successful in his career."

Kavanaugh began his golf education at the Phoenix campus of the Golf Academy of America and in two years he earned his degree in Golf Complex Operations and Management.

He ultimately graduated at the Orlando, Fla., campus, where he was offered the first-assistant position at the Brunswick Golf Club. For five years Kavanaugh worked for Brunswick until his job offer from Toddy Brook.

Toddy Brook offers an 18-hole golf course, located in North Yarmouth, Maine, which is open to the public. Designed and built in 2002, the course offers four sets of tees, rolling hills and a blend of water and sand.

The Golf Academy of America is the oldest and largest two-year golf college in the world and has four campuses in major golf markets -- Phoenix, Myrtle Beach, Orlando and San Diego. Golf Academy of America leads the industry in golf business education and is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).
