Birmingham, Alabama-based Education Corporation of America (ECA) and its owned and operated schools have begun efforts to assist in the relief efforts for earthquake-devastated Haiti. Tom Moore, CEO of ECA announced the company has donated $10,000 in cash to Project H.E.L.P.
"We recognize the best way to help the most people in this terrible situation is with cash to organizations such as Project H.E.L.P., which assures it goes directly to the people who need it most," Moore says. "I am also proud of our students and staff at our campuses who are pitching in to help."
Virginia College at Austin, Texas, organized a bake sale and raffle. The Student Veterans Club at Virginia College at Jacksonville, Florida, initiated a donation drive with proceeds going to the American Red Cross. The Student Ambassadors group at Virginia College School of Business and Health in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is collecting non-perishable food items, clothing and bottled water. It will be donated to the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.
