Golf Academy of America Attends Military and Veteran Career Fair
Jan 27, 2009
A long career in the golf industry can be achieved by those who love the game but do not actually play the tour. The Golf Academy of America (GAA) strives to emphasize this at community events such as the January 21, 2009, career fair for military servicemen and women who have recently rotated or are going to rotate out of the military."Events like the Los Angeles Military Veteran Career Fair are exciting for GAA to participate in because we can educate people about our programs and the opportunities it creates for our students. GAA graduates have shown us boundless opportunities," says Henry Salgado, GAA Director of Admissions. "At this particular event we were able to reach out to over 200 service members who have already proven a strong work ethic and determination, two traits that play a major factor not only in school and the golf industry, but in life."
A leader in golf education with four campuses in major golf markets nationwide, the Golf Academy of America offers a 16-month curriculum in golf instruction and golf business management. Founded in 1974, GAA's San Diego Campus is located in beautiful Carlsbad, California, and is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), a national advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation. The other GAA schools are in Phoenix, Arizona; Orlando, Florida; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Golf Academy of America schools are owned and operated by Education Corporation of America, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.
