George Lys was in the British Army for 15 years. He served as an officer in a Gurkha unit with active service all over the world. His service was followed by 15 years in Southern Africa with the British Foreign Office working for the King of Swaziland. While in Swaziland, he played for the Swaziland National Team against South Africa, whose team included Trevor Immelman and Tim Clark.
George has played golf 43 years. He was a scratch golfer in the 90s and is now a humble 1.2 handicap. George has been married for 10 years. He and his wife were residing in Mexico City before attending the Golf Academy. While at the Academy, he has been a dual emphasis but is leaning toward the Golf Professional. He is very interested in teaching after he graduates and is looking for a job in Mexico or Europe.
