Golf Academy-Orlando Grad Gives Stirring Speech
Aug 3, 2009
Ben Netter graduated last April from Golf Academy of America-Orlando campus. As part of the festivities, he delivered a memorable speech prior to the luncheon. Ben was able to capture his thoughts and feelings and hope for the future. Here it is:The golf swing is approximately a two-second motion during which our entire bodies work in a coordinated manner to hit a motionless ball. Of these two seconds, it is mere milliseconds that matter, mere milliseconds that will determine whether this shot is triumph or tragedy. It is the moment of truth in the golf swing, where the tools in our hands make contact with our objective and send it off to our desired destination. After that we have no more control over the ball, and no amount of pleading, begging or body contortions will make the ball succumb to our will. It is the point where we must simultaneously gather and let go all the ferocity created in the golf swing. We hope for the best, trusting that the skills we possess and the tools we wield will lead to shots that reach their goals with uncompromising accuracy. It is the moment of impact.
The Golf Academy of America is approximately a 16-month program where our bodies and minds work in conjunction to absorb and understand as much as humanly possible about the golf swing and the golf industry. It is a time when we are given the tools and skills to forge ourselves into knowledgeable golf professionals, who no longer offer opinions but facts. It is a time which ends today. But this is only the beginning, because after today our lives will take us all down different paths and different trajectories, yet we all hope to reach our goals with uncompromising accuracy. Today is the day when you put the tools you have been given and the skills you have acquired into action. Today is our moment of truth. Today is our moment of impact.
Ben is now working for GolfTec in Louisiana--improving golfers' impact everyday!
