Measuring Your Practice Putts

Apr 23, 2008

golfer measuring putt

Use a flagstick to lay out your putts for your putting drills.

You know that the flagstick is about seven feet long. Therefore, if you lay the flagstick so that the end is one foot from the hole, you’ll know that the far end of the stick will be eight feet from the hole.

Drop a few balls at the end of the flagstick to practice your eight-foot putts. Drop more balls two feet closer to the hole for six-foot putts, then at two-foot increments for four-foot and two-foot putts.

By using this practice technique, you’ll be able to train yourself how to make putts of specific lengths.
