Program Emphases: Golf Professional and Golf Management
The learning environment created at Golf Academy of America is like no other golf college in the world. It is based on a unique concept that focuses on rigorous academic standards, as well as enhancement of golf proficiency.
As a student, you will actively participate to improve your playing ability and increase your knowledge of the golf business. Each day at the Golf Academy of America, you will be challenged to develop those skills to the fullest. This education provides a basis, ultimately, for careers in teaching golf and managing (or assisting in the management of) golf complex operations and businesses.
Golf Academy of America offers two areas of emphasis in its associate's degree in Golf Complex Operations and Management: Golf Professional and General Golf Management. Some students choose one of these tracks, while others choose a dual emphasis. Both emphases provide a golf education that's geared toward a career in the business of golf—a $76 billion industry providing more than 2 million golf jobs.
Students who choose the Golf Professional track may have primary interest in becoming a teaching professional, a private instructor, or club pro. Students who follow the General Golf Management emphasis may have more interest in management aspects of golf, like operating a golf course and/or pro shop, or a career in golf manufacturing or tourism. Either emphasis provides graduates with a diverse and well-rounded background that potential employers seek.
