1. How long does it take to complete the Associates degree program? You can complete the Golf Academy Associate degree program and be ready for a golf career in as little as 16 months! See our Degree Programs page for a complete overview of Associates and Bachelors degree programs.
2. How much does the tuition cost? The tuition runs approximately $28,800 which includes all activity fees and textbook fees. This can be funded entirely or in part through private and government student loans. See our Financial Planning page for more information. Golf Academy of America can also help you find part-time jobs while you are in school.
3. How soon can I be employed in the golf industry? Although Golf Academy of America cannot guarantee that all students will become employed in their chosen field, we have a 90%+ placement rate and most students are recruited directly by golf companies or otherwise find work within 3 months upon completion of their degree.
4. What relocation services are available? Golf Academy of America's trained staff helps students find affordable and nearby apartments. Each Golf Academy of America campus is located in major metropolitan areas with ample housing options. See the Student Housing page for more information.

Is Golf Academy of America accredited?
Yes! Golf Academy of America is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), 750 First Street, NE, Suite 980, Washington, DC 20002-4241, (202) 336-6780 to award occupational associate's degrees. Golf Academy of America is approved or licensed in California, Florida, Arizona and South Carolina and authorized to award Associate of Applied Business Degrees (CA, AZ and SC)/Occupational Associate Degrees (FL) to students who successfully complete the academic program.
What are the admissions requirements for Golf Academy of America?
- Admission of First-Time College Students: Applicants who have not previously attended an accredited post-secondary institution will be considered first-time college students.
- Admissions Procedures: Applicants must exceed the age of compulsory school attendance and possess a High School Diploma or an equivalency certificate such as a Certificate of High School Equivalency (GED Certificate) issued by a recognized State Department of Education. An official high school transcript may be required for certain states. Otherwise, an attestation of graduation is acceptable. A certificate of attendance, or any other award issued in lieu of a diploma, is inadequate for admission.
Do I need a certain handicap to attend your school?
Golf Academy of America does not have a handicap requirement to attend our school. However, since playing golf is a part of the curriculum, you should speak to the Campus Director to determine if your playing ability is appropriate for the track you are pursuing within our curriculum.
What kind of degree will I earn?
The Academy awards an Associate of Applied Business degree (California, Arizona and South Carolina)/ Occupational Associate degree (Florida) in Golf Complex Operations and Management to students who satisfy all of the requirements.
What are your graduation rates?
Throughout all of our campuses our graduation rates have been consistently above 85%.
What states are the four campus locations in?
Golf Academy of America currently has campuses in California, Arizona, South Carolina and Florida.
How many students attend Golf Academy of America total?
Currently Golf Academy of America has a combined enrollment of over 1,000 students. Enrollment varies by semester.
How many students are in the classroom?
There are typically 25 students per classroom, depending upon the course.
What is your student/instructor ratio?
Our student/instructor ratio is dependant upon the number of students enrolled per semester.
What is a typical day like?
Students typically attend class five days a week. They are usually in the classroom in the morning, and are involved in golf-related activities or instruction in the afternoon.
Does Golf Academy of America accept transfer credits from other schools?
Previous college work is automatically evaluated by the Campus/Placement Director upon review of an accepted student's file. All credit hours will be evaluated for approval and transfer for veterans. Up to 12 credit hours can be granted, under the following circumstances:
- The courses taken by the student are determined to be the equivalent of Academy courses.
- The student has received a grade of C (2.0) or higher in the course from an accredited college.
- The student is taking sufficient credit hours to satisfy Academy residency requirements.

What are your placement rates?
The Golf Academy does not guarantee employment to any graduate. However, our placement rate consistently averages over 90% within 180 days of graduation.
What is GolFutures?
Our GolFutures website, www.golfutures.com, is a useful resource that currently features hundreds of golf-related positions, as well as an additional 500 golf manufacturer representative positions. Exclusive to Golf Academy of America graduates and alumni only, this site lists positions ranging from: teaching professionals to management positions. This is offered at no cost to our graduates, alumni or businesses posting their positions on the website. The majority of these positions are located in the United States; however, we are working to expand our postings internationally.

Do I need to bring a computer?
It is not necessary to bring a computer. Each Golf Academy of America campus has a computer lab available for student use however. For students who do bring a computer, all of the campuses offer WiFi access.

How do I buy textbooks?
Students have the convenience of purchasing textbooks online via Golf Academy of America's Virtual Bookstore located on the GolfAcademy website at www.golfacademy.edu.
Beginning January 1, 2009, textbooks will be included in the semester activity fee.
What is Orientation?
Orientation day is designed to help students make a smooth transition to the Academy. The day gives new students a chance to register for classes with the assistance of Golf Academy of America staff and to attend a comprehensive introductory program that outlines the program, schedules, and expectations of the Academy. Incoming students will meet with staff and tour the campus. New students are encouraged to meet fellow classmates, staff and faculty members, and counselors.
Do you have on-campus housing?
Golf Academy of America does not offer on-campus or off-campus housing. We partner with local housing providers to provide reasonably priced, flexible, convenient housing for students attending each of our four golf college campuses.
Can I buy Golf Academy of America logo items and class rings?
Golf Academy of America has partnered with The Antigua Group to offer students, alumni, and friends a selection of high quality Golf Academy of America logo merchandise. All items will be custom embroidered with the Golf Academy of America logo and shipped directly to you! (Note: We are sorry to inform you that the store is currently under construction.) We also offer Golf Academy of America class rings through a partnership with Josten's.
FUNDING YOUR EDUCATION
Is financial aid available to international students?
U.S. Federal Student Loans and Grants are available only for legal residents of the United States.
What financial aid do you offer?
Federal Financial Aid and Veteran's benefits are available for those who qualify. Students interested in applying for financial aid need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). U.S. Federal Student Loans and Grants are available only for legal residents of the United States. The information on the FAFSA will be evaluated by the financial aid office and, if eligible, the student will be sent an award letter listing the types and amounts of financial assistance available. What does tuition include?
Included in the tuition and supplemental to the required tournament play are the open rounds of golf. A combination of both tournament and open rounds of golf result in the opportunity to play a minimum of two rounds of golf per week. A comprehensive golf range package, established per campus, is also included.
What do you mean by "comprehensive range package"?
The comprehensive range ball package, included in the tuition cost, can be used at anytime during the range's posted business hours while Golf Academy of America semesters are in session. This is subject to change should we change golf ranges and/or should the range change their policies.
Is Golf Academy of America eligible for VA benefits?
Golf Academy of America's curriculum is approved for the training of veterans and persons eligible for VA educational benefits. Varying enrollment limitations may be imposed by the VA or the state approving agency.
