Graduate of Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach
Head Golf Professional
Current Employer: Fauquier Springs Country Club in Warrenton, VA
For PGA Professional Jeff Pianelli, business skills have been a large part of his success in the golf industry. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Delaware Valley University and says those skills gave him a head start on his peers.
Today, Pianelli is Head Golf Professional at Fauquier Springs Country Club in Warrenton, Va.
"Teaching is one of the things that I must say requires a bit of skill in every area," he says. "It's not just the swing but how to relay the information back to the student. We must learn the person as much as we do the swing."
Fortunately, he was educated by a team of expert instructors at Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach. "Not only were the pros educated and seasoned, they were reliable instructors in all areas," says Pianelli. "The knowledge gained from them in my time at the Academy is invaluable, and the relationships that were formed there will never end."
He advises future students to stay humble along the way. “No matter where you are currently employed, remember, the person on the other end of the counter is the main focus. Without them, we don't have anywhere to go. Embrace women and junior golfers, as they are the future of our business."
What's in His Bag? Titleist
Golf Ball of Choice: Titleist
Best Part of His Job: “I enjoy multiple areas from finance to customer relations. Watching people enjoy themselves and appreciate your work is something that never gets old. While in the Academy I was told that a golf professional must wear many hats in a given day, and that may be one of the most accurate descriptions I have ever heard!"
