Golf has been a major part of Melissa Williams' life since her childhood, when she spent many hours playing with her parents at a nine-hole course in Maine. Williams went on to win the Maine State Junior Championship in 1986, and later decided to pursue a career via the Golf Academy of America in Orlando.
She now works as the Head PGA Golf Professional at Tara Golf & Country Club in Bradenton, Florida and says that teaching, technology, customer service and listening skills have been vital to the advancement of her career. She advises current students to exercise patience. "Jobs are not a dime a dozen," Williams says. "You must find the proper facility where you can grow."
