Philippe De Busschere

Graduate of Golf Academy of America in Orlando

Lead Instructor

Current Employer: David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Jakarta, Indonesia

Philippe De Busschere picked up golf at the age of 14 in his home country of Belgium. At 20, he enrolled in the Golf Academy of America in Orlando where he focused on advanced teaching, club repair and fitting and tournament operations. Since graduation, he has worked as an instructor in Austria, Spain, Korea and Germany before moving to his current home base of Indonesia.

As Lead Instructor at David Leadbetter Golf Academy, communication skills and logical thinking have taken him far. “It’s important to be able to think cause and effect and communicate that back to the player as simply as possible,” De Busschere says.

He advises Golf Academy of America students to keep an open mind and explore the many possibilities of a career in golf. “To know what you like and what to do in life, you also need to find what you don't want to do,” he says.
