Graduate of Golf Academy of America in Orlando
Regional PGD Director
Current Employer: Folds of Honor in Wilmington, North Carolina
Before she became a sought-after instructor, PGA Member Sara Bush was a top-notch player. She played golf at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, earning the title of captain, and also won the New Brunswick Provincial Amateur. She was captain of Team Canada in a world collegiate event.
Today, Bush is Regional PGD Director at Folds of Honor in Wilmington, North Carolina. She says that relationships are key to success in the golf business. “The golf industry has taught me the importance of people skills and great customer service,” says Bush. “These two things are a part of what builds lasting relationships.”
Bush says that Golf Academy of America gave her the tools to make golf a career. “GAA provided me with the foundation to succeed as a traditional golf professional on the green grass side of the business,” she says. “It armed me with enough industry background to get my foot in the door and then to accelerate learning on the job. In addition, GAA played a huge role in my first position directly out of school, which was incredibly helpful.”
She advises current students to network and get involved.
