Sr. VP of Operations

Current Employer: Billy Casper Golf in Reston, VA

For Tony Cianci, Senior Vice President of Operations at Billy Casper Golf, it’s vital to understand how to build successful relationships. “Not every employee or client is the same, and it takes a special skill set to determine the best way to connect,” he says. “I learned how to be a better listener and then how to respond in a manner that would resonate with each individual.”

He says his Golf Academy of America education was vital in achieving his current role. “GAA gave me insight into how to apply my existing skills to golf operations management and it also taught me new skills relating to specific jobs in facility operations,” Cianci says. “GAA also taught me the importance of being professional in my approach to my career, which helped me in future interviews and interactions with key people I've met along the way.”

Cianci encourages students to take in all the information presented to them and keep their options open. “Be professional. Be personable. Be understanding and be empathetic,” he says. “Use your skills not only to help yourself but also to help others.”
