What do you do as PGA Assistant Professional?
I assist in overseeing the entire golf operation including hiring and training of staff, tournament operations, instruction programs, ladies and junior golf program development, merchandising, playing golf with members and maintaining the clubs budgeted goals.
How did Golf Academy of America prepare you for your current position?
GAA gave me the tools to not only to achieve my Class A PGA status, but also set the foundation for my career in the golf industry. The knowledge gained from industry-specific courses allowed me to get my first entry-level position months after graduation.
What were the biggest influences on your career choice of golf?
Being part of one of the biggest organizations in the world, the PGA of America. Also, giving junior golfers the ability to discover the amazing benefits of the game and the positives effects it will have on their future.
Tell us about your career accomplishments since graduation.
I have been in the industry for 8 years. I began my career in the MET section at the Tam O'Shanter Club on Long Island, NY. I then moved back to my home state of Massachusetts and began working at Worcester Country Club, home of the inaugural Ryder Cup. Spending past winters in Florida and working at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge. Currently a certified Titleist, Mizuno, Ping, and Callaway club fitter. I have played in over 50 Professional events and am a Titleist Staff member.
What are your career goals and how do you think your education at Golf Academy of America is helping you achieve them?
My goal is to become the Head Golf Professional at a first class facility where I can utilize my previous experience to promote the game of golf within an elite club atmosphere.
