How did you achieve your current position? I got the job at Cleveland Golf by working hard in the classroom and networking with people throughout my journey at Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach and previous experiences. I always put my best effort forward and tried to put others first. I graduated in April 2013.
What were the biggest influences on your career choice of golf? The biggest influence for me was a person named John Carey who also works for Cleveland Golf/Srixon. I met John at a young age and he always was there, helping me through the business. I still keep in contact with him. Working demo days when I was 17 made me realize I wanted to be on this side of the business.
How did Golf Academy of America help you to achieve your goals? Golf Academy of America made me a more well-rounded individual. I learned a lot about the business while I was there and also learned some of the more important things about an office job. My education was not all golf. Some of the other classes like accounting and computer are really are paying off right now that I am in the field.
What advice would you give those wanting to get into the golf business? Keep a clean record and try to think of others first. Be the best person you can be and never burn bridges. I can honestly say networking is the most important thing in the golf business. It really is a small world.
