Golf Academy of America Alumnus Michael Burlison recently emailed Fred Barr, Career Services Director at the Phoenix campus to share his post-graduation success. Their email exchange is reprinted below, with permission.

Hello Fred,

This is Michael Burlison, a graduate from the 2013 summer class. I am writing to inform you of my progression in the golf industry.

In late May, I was hired for the guest service team at Newcastle Golf Club in Washington State. Within my first three weeks, I was promoted as a "Lead" for our 26-man guest service team. I was in charge of delegating duties while reporting directly to our Head Professional, Mark Rashell, and our GM, David Uchida.

Because of my professional approach when dealing with customers and my hustle and efficiency when handling tasks, I have now been moved into the golf shop as well as our practice facility. I can't thank you and the Golf Academy enough for providing me the tools to make a difference in the golf industry. I only see myself moving forward. I don't get to go to work anymore, I get to go have fun.
