Phoenix Director Eberlein recognized for clubfitting
Jan 27, 2012
Tim Eberlein, Campus Director at the Phoenix campus at Golf Academy of America for the past nine years, received a "Professional Clubfitter Award" from Henry—Griffitts, LTD, at the PGA Merchandise Show recently in Orlando.
The award was presented by Randy Henry, founder of Henry—Griffitts, a manufacturer of custom—fitted clubs based in Hayden, Idaho, since 1983.
Mr. Eberlein, who has been a certified clubfitter since 1994, joins the ranks of just 150 Henry–Griffitts "Professional Clubfitters" worldwide. He has helped more than 250 of his students gain general certification in his specialty area since he joined GAA 17 years ago.
"This award gives me a sense of satisfaction for a job well done in a specialty field of the golf industry, says Eberlein. "I really have enjoyed helping students learn the craft and I thank the Henry—Griffitts Company for helping me with the tools to become an expert clubfitter."
To reach the level of professional clubfitter, Eberlein successfully met a checklist of criteria established by Henry—Griffitts. Eberlein will soon qualify for another elite recognition: being on short list of about 50 Henry—Griffitts Master Professional Clubfitters in the world.
"Tim always is looking for the best way to educate his students," noted Bill Boltz, director of accounts management for Henry—Griffitts. "He always represents himself and his craft in a professional manner. He's a true pro."
