Chauncey Mitchell Manager of Military Education Initiatives for Golf Academy of America and Ecotech Institute

As a military veteran, former business owner and graduate of Golf Academy of America in San Diego and other institutions, Chauncey Mitchell is a product of a rich educational foundation, distinguished service and diverse career experience.

Born the son of a career U.S. Army soldier in San Antonio, Texas, Mr. Mitchell grew up in Western Europe accompanying his parents during multiple overseas assignments. Following in his father's footsteps, he served as an enlisted Marine, Naval Officer and carrier-based jet aviator during a 30-year military career. His major military accomplishments include various departmental and commanding officer assignments culminating in Air Wing Commander/Commodore.

After the military, Mr. Mitchell was as a majority-share owner of a San Diego-based defense contract software engineering firm. He graduated from Golf Academy of America in San Diego in 2011 and began his career with Education Corporation of America (ECA) shortly thereafter.

His education also includes two bachelor's degrees in history and government and a master's degree in National Security and International Strategic Studies.

At ECA, he has held positions including Field Representative for the San Diego campus, Director of Diversity Business Exchange (a nonprofit ECA initiative) and currently Manager of Military Education Initiatives for Golf Academy of America and Ecotech Institute.
